  • How many people job is it to install?

    We recommend at least 2 able bodied people for your installation, depending on your door size this number should increase to avoid any complications

  • How do I measure?

    The door size is measured from the outside to outside of the frame for both height and width. The recommended rough opening should be a minimum of 1/2” to 1” wider than the width and 1/2” to 1” taller than the height.

  • Do you do installations?

    We do not do installations but have a 3rd party installer we can recommend to you.

  • Can I put an iron door in my old home that has a weird size?

    Yes, we can custom make you any size door. Simply provide us with the dimensions and design and we will write you an estimate.

  • What is the Lead time for a custom order? What is the lead time for an in-stock order?

    In Stock items will ship in approximately 5-7 days. Custom orders take approximately 12-15 weeks to produce.

  • Can we expedite our order?

    Yes, There is a 20% uncharge to produce the door in 8-10 weeks

  • What form(s) of shipping do you use?

    Most of our doors are shipped via LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight. Each order is palletized specifically for the size of the door. If a door is over 96” tall, or if the order is for multiple doors, there is a chance that it may have to be shipped via flatbed. In this case, doors will be in wooden crates separated from frames, and laid down flat.

  • How long do shipments take to get to my location?

    For LTL shipments, transit time is between 2-7 days to get to their destination terminal, depending on the destination. Once it has arrived, the carrier will call within a day or two to set up a delivery date and time with you directly. For Flatbed shipments, transit time varies based on destination, and will be anywhere from 1-6 days. The driver will contact you 24 hours before arrival.

  • How do LTL deliveries work?

    For an LTL delivery, once the pallet gets picked up, you will receive an email from Pinky’s letting you know that your order is on it’s way with instructions on what to expect. You will get updates from the carrier as it moves through each terminal. Once it arrives at the destination terminal, the carrier will contact you within a couple of days to schedule a delivery date and time. Once a date is secured, it is necessary to have at minimum 2 to 3 able bodied persons to help dismantle the pallet from curbside once dropped via lift gate to the curb. In some instances, especially for larger sized doors, the pallet may not be able to be dropped with the lift gate because of size and overhang regulations. In these instances, it will be necessary for you to dismantle the pallet while still in the box truck. To do so only requires a standard #2 Phillips screw bit and a cordless drill. Please be ready with these tools as there is only a limited time the driver has until he must depart for his next delivery. Make sure to keep the pallet and all wood in case of any concealed damages arise when you open the packages and we need to get the door shipped back to us. Inspect packages right away to ensure that there was no concealed damage during transit, as there is a very limited time frame to report this to the carrier.

  • How do Flatbed deliveries work?

    When ordering a door that is larger 100 inches in height, or when ordering multiple doors that would typically require more than 2 pallets when shipping via LTL freight, a flatbed may be the required form of shipment. With flatbed orders, a Pinky’s representative will be contacting you via phone to discuss the process before having the order picked up. Once Pinky’s gets the OK from you, the customer, to put your load up for bid, the order will take anywhere between 1-4 days (sometimes more depending on destination and sizing) to get picked up from our warehouse. Once picked up, the flatbed driver will contact you 24 hours out from delivery. There is no set date/time for flatbed deliveries. It is your responsibility to make sure you are there for offload at the time the driver arrives. You will have 30-45 minutes to offload your order. Most of our doors require 2-3 (sometimes 4) able bodied persons to lift and remove doors and frames from the flatbed. For larger orders, please make sure you have more manpower in order to offload within the time limits. Pinky’s is not liable for any charges that may occur due to non adherence to the above information.

  • What if there is visible damage to the packaging upon delivery?

    We here at Pinky’s do everything in our power to get you your doors safely and in a timely manner. Unfortunately, as with any process, damages during shipping can occur. The consignee should inspect the freight for damage(s) and record any obvious damage to the crate upon delivery. Under NMFC rules, the consignee does not have the right to open and inspect the shipping containers prior to signing for the freight. If the condition of the shipping package is such that there is good reason to suspect major damage, please DO NOT open the freight package and refuse the shipment. Contact Pinky’s Iron Doors Customer Service immediately and report refusal. Please note, by refusing the shipment, you will most likely wait anywhere from 3-5 weeks to receive resolution. If minimal damage is presented on the package, the consignee MUST notify the carrier of all the details of the damage ( i.e. torn packaging material, black mark on the container, etc.).

  • What if there is visible damage to the packaging upon delivery?

The consignee should inspect the freight for damage(s) and record any obvious damage to the crate upon delivery. If the condition of the shipping package is such that there is good reason to suspect major damage, please DO NOT open the freight package and refuse the shipment. Contact Pinky’s Iron Doors Customer Service immediately and report refusal. Please note, by refusing the shipment, you will most likely wait anywhere from 3-5 weeks to receive resolution.   • What if I find concealed damages after the freight has been delivered?

    When damage is discovered after delivery, it should be reported to the Pinky’s Iron Doors Customer Service immediately. Once contact has been made, consignee will file claim with carrier. Pinky’s Iron Doors will provide this information. The carrier may complete an inspection. Please hold the freight and shipping container until resolution is given. For both visible and concealed damages, consignee must report any damage marks on container to the carrier during delivery to be considered for a claim resolution. Failing to do so will result in an unrewarded claim. The carrier and Pinky’s Iron Doors are not responsible for any un-reported claim. Your beautiful new door is on its way! Below you will find VERY IMPORTANT info you need to know upon arrival…PLEASE READ thoroughly! :) **Detailed tracking will be sent to you and a delivery appt will be set up by the carrier once it has arrived at the hub near you….they will call you to set up this appt** Please keep in mind that this is a curb side lift gate delivery. This is a heavy product. Make sure to have a minimum of two people help disassemble the crate and move the product. You will need a screwdriver and hammer to for proper disassembly. IMPORTANT: Pinky’s Iron Doors takes extra precaution to inspect each product prior to shipment. We take the extra step to make sure to carefully package the product(s) with protective materials in order to avoid any possible damages during delivery. Pinky’s Iron Doors is not liable for any damages that occur during, upon, or after delivery. Visible Damage(s): The consignee should inspect the freight for damage(s) and record any obvious damage to the crate upon delivery. Under NMFC rules, the consignee does not have the right to open and inspect the shipping containers prior to signing for the freight.   • What if I order my door, receive it, and realize I need something different?

    We here at Pinky’s pride ourselves on customer service. If this situation were to occur, Pinky’s will gladly refund you for your door, less shipping and a 25% restocking fee. All shipping coming back to our warehouse will need to be handled by you, the customer, in a way that will prevent any damages. Pinky’s is not liable for any damages the door may have from shipment back to our warehouse. Once we receive the door back, we will inspect it to make sure no damage has occurred. Once completed, we will be able to refund the 75% of the door assuming no damage has been found.

  • May I return my door if I don't like it?

    Within thirty days of the date products are delivered and prior to installation or an attempt to install, your purchase can be returned to Pinky’s Iron Doors for a refund. Please note that a 25% restocking fee will be charged for the return, and Pinky’s Iron Doors has the right to charge for any damages that may have occurred to the product(s). The product must be packed in its original packaging material. If packaging material is unusable, please contact our Customer Service department prior to return. Delivery fees are not refundable.

  • What are the details for the return process?

    In order to return an item you need to first obtain an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. To request an RMA number online send us an email. To request an RMA number by phone, call Customer Service at 818-843-6670 or toll free 1-843-843-6677. Place the original product into its original packaging. Please do not place stickers or shipping labels on the original package. The RMA number must be clearly written on package. We recommend you ship via insured common carrier service with a tracking number. Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer. We are not responsible for lost or damaged packages. Please allow up to 2 to 3 weeks for your refund or exchange to process for stock products.

  • What gage steel do you use?

    We use a 12 gauge steel on all of our models. The lower the number the thicker and stronger the steel.

  • How thick is your glass? And, do your doors include single glass or two glasses?

    Dual pane of 6mm (.24”) tempered glass equalling 5/8 of an inch total thickness. Our doors include two glasses (dual pane).

  • Do the doors come with locks?

    No hardware is included with the purchase of a door. Our doors are pre-hung, predrilled, and tapped for the hardware you select.

  • How much do the doors weigh?

    Single doors weigh from approximately 365 pounds to approximately 480 pounds. Double Doors weigh from approximately 620 pounds to 864 pounds. Please note, the weights above are total pounds for the door, glass and frame. However, these items are separated to make it more installation friendly for two persons.

  • Do the doors come with the frame?

    Yes, our doors are pre hung and come complete with frame and threshold.

  • Do the doors seal?

    Yes, there is a weather stripping around the entire door and operable window panels as well as a sweep installed on the bottom of the door.

  • Are the doors hard to open? Are they heavy?

    The doors do open and close with ease as all hinges come pre greased and copper crush washers. All units also come with a standard zerk fitting making it easy to attach your grease gun to the hinge without removing the door.

  • Do iron doors rust ?

    We Galvanize all of our steel before primer and painting them to prevent corrosion

  • I have a sun facing door. How will it do compared to a wood door?

    Your new iron door will not expand and contract like your wooden door. In another words, you will note have to refinish and replace as often as your wooden door.

  • What is the difference between hot rolled steel and cold rolled steel?

    Cold rolled steel increases strength by 20%

  • What is the lead time for an in-stock order ?

    In Stock items will ship in approximately 5-7 days.

  • Can we change the glass?

    All of our in-stock doors are completed units. Each in-stock door has one unique glass design already installed on the door. If the customer will like to change the glass design then we can do one of two things. First, we can ship the door to you as is, produce a new glass and ship it to you once it is complete. The customer will be responsible for cost of new glass, shipping of the glass and the installation of the glass. Our second option, is to place a complete new custom order of the door with the glass you like and we can produce the whole unit for you new for no additional charge.

  • What color are the doors?

    All In stock doors with the exception of a few contemporary designs come in Oil Rubbed Bronze. Custom doors can be produced in any of the 10 colors we have to choose from.

  • Do you give contractor pricing?

    Once you purchase your first two doors at regular price you are eligible to fill out our whole sale application to see if you qualify for our whole sale pricing Tier.

  • Can you give me a customers address to see your door installed?

    No, we can’t share our customers private info with anyone but please feel free to look at our installed doors on Facebook and Instagram

  • Do you make screens?

    We can make screens for custom doors 96” and under. Screens are only made when we produce the doors and are not available for in stock orders, however we can provide you with a third party that can produce you aftermarket screens.
